Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2179 on standard forms for European Green Bond external reviewer registration
The European Commission mandates that applicants for registration as external reviewers for European Green Bonds submit applications using specific standard forms, templates, and procedures set out in the Regulation's Annexes. Applicants must provide machine-readable information, assign unique reference numbers to each document, and include a senior management letter attesting to the accuracy and completeness of the submission. Personal data related to these applications must be retained by ESMA and the reviewers for no longer than five years after the applicant ceases function, is refused registration, or withdraws the application. This Regulation enters into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
