Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/543 on standard forms for notifying material changes by external reviewers

The European Commission mandates that external reviewers use specific machine-readable standard forms and templates to notify the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) of material changes to their registration information. Submissions must include unique reference numbers for each document and be accompanied by a senior management letter attesting to the accuracy and completeness of the data. Personal data related to these notifications must be retained by both ESMA and the reviewers for no longer than five years after the reviewer ceases to perform its function. The regulation enters into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
