The European Commission adopted Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/125 on 29 January 2020 to update the list of relevant appropriately diversified indices under Regulation (EU) No 575/2013. The regulation replaces the Annex of Implementing Regulation (EU) No 945/2014 with a new list of 98 stock indices, including the S&P 500, FTSE 100, and DAX, based on a reassessment of data from 2018. This update allows credit institutions and investment firms to ignore the specific risk of these indices for prudential purposes. The regulation entered into force on 19 February 2020, twenty days after its publication in the Official Journal.
