The European Commission establishes implementing technical standards for the format of insider lists under Regulation (EU) No 596/2014, repealing Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1210. Issuers, emission allowance market participants, and auction platforms must maintain lists using specific templates that include event-based sections for each piece of inside information and optional sections for permanent insiders. The regulation mandates electronic storage for most entities, while allowing SME growth market issuers to use non-electronic formats if confidentiality is ensured. Personal data on these lists must be retained for no longer than five years after a person ceases to be on the list.
