Composition of the deposit with subsidiary

SEBI amends the composition requirements for deposits maintained by sub-brokers with their subsidiary companies. The non-cash component, previously restricted to irrevocable bank guarantees, may now be provided in the form of Fixed Deposit Receipts (FDRs) issued by a bank. These FDRs must be discharged in favor of the subsidiary or company and subject to a complete unencumbered and unconditional lien. This change applies to all stock exchanges and their sub-brokers.
