Conduct of Business Rulebook Revisions
The Malta Financial Services Authority amends the Conduct of Business Rulebook to implement three Amending Delegated Acts integrating sustainability factors into the Insurance Distribution Directive and Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II. The revisions require insurance undertakings and intermediaries to assess client sustainability preferences for IBIPs starting 2 August 2022, while investment firms must incorporate these assessments for advice and portfolio management by the same date. Additionally, new provisions apply to product governance obligations for MiFID II entities effective 22 November 2022, with national transposition required by 21 August 2022.
