Corporate Restructuring Companies Act, 2016

No Corporate Restructuring Company may be incorporated without the Commission's prior approval, or carry on business unless established as a public limited company under the Ordinance and licensed by the Commission. Financial institutions may transfer non-performing assets to a Corporate Restructuring Company, other than one established, owned or controlled by them or their affiliates, with Board approval; transfers bind obligors only after notice. Companies and their directors, officers and agents must not engage in speculative transactions, transact other than at arm's length, or make false statements. Non-compliance triggers penalties under the Act.
