CP20/15: Liquidity mismatch in authorised open-ended property funds

The Financial Conduct Authority proposes introducing a notice period of up to 180 days for UK authorised open-ended property funds constituted as non-UCITS retail schemes (NURS) to address structural liquidity mismatches. This consultation seeks comments on requiring investors to provide notice before redeeming investments, aiming to reduce the risk of fund suspensions and prevent first-mover advantages that disadvantage remaining investors. The proposal applies to fund managers, depositaries, and various service providers involved in these specific property funds, with a comment deadline of 3 November 2020.
