The Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) sets the countercyclical buffer rate for Luxembourg at 0.50% for the third quarter of 2021. This decision follows the recommendation of the Systemic Risk Committee and aligns with the ECB's non-objection, maintaining the rate established on 1 January 2021. The CSSF determined that while the credit-to-GDP gap remains below the 2% activation threshold, ongoing credit growth to households warrants continued vigilance and the preservation of existing capital buffers.
