Decision on the Use of Unsolicited Credit Assessments under Article 138 CRR

The European Banking Authority confirms that the unsolicited credit assessments of the External Credit Assessment Institutions listed in the Annex do not differ in quality from their solicited credit assessments for the purposes of Article 138 of Regulation (EU) No 575/2013. This confirmation permits institutions to use these unsolicited ratings for determining risk weights in the calculation of own funds requirements. The Decision enters into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
