The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina withdraws Bosnia and Herzegovina dinar (BHD) banknotes from circulation and mandates their exchange for convertible marks (KM) at a fixed rate of 100 BHD to 1 KM. The exchange period runs from June 22, 1998, to July 6, 1998, during which BHD notes remain legal tender for cash payments. Starting July 7, 1998, BHD notes cease to be legal tender, and all cash disbursements from KM accounts must be made exclusively in KM. Transactions exceeding 500,000 BHD require identification and registration of serial numbers.
