Depositors Protection Fund (DPF) Rules

All Saudi-licensed banks must pay a quarterly premium of 0.0125% of average eligible deposits, due within 30 days of each quarter’s end. Banks must submit certified quarterly returns to SAMA within 30 days of the quarter ending. The DPF protects eligible deposits up to SAR 200,000 per depositor per bank. Non-compliance with payment or reporting deadlines subjects banks to surcharges and punitive actions under the Banking Control Law.
