Directive on block of securities

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission directs listed companies, asset managers, and stock exchanges to block securities and mutual fund units held in BO accounts of sponsor shareholders, directors, and placement holders using the Block Module of the Central Depository System. Stock exchanges are required to process declarations for buying, selling, or disposing of securities by crediting or debiting the relevant BO accounts, and to un-block accounts upon receiving official communication regarding changes in directorship or other valid reasons. This directive takes immediate effect.
