The Securities and Exchange Commission directs Dhaka Stock Exchange Limited and Chittagag Stock Exchange Limited to restrict physical share transactions in the spot market to one complete cycle immediately prior to the book-closure date, while suspending such transactions on the day immediately preceding the book-closure start date. The directive prohibits the application of circuit breakers for the concerned securities on the trading day following the record date or book-closure date. Instead of instant suspension upon the closure of a listed company's operations, stock exchanges must disseminate a trading monitor notice; if the company fails to hold Annual General Meetings or issue Annual Reports and remains closed for more than six months, the security shall be de-listed six months after the initial dissemination. This directive supersedes previous SEC letters and takes immediate effect.
