DOS Circular Letter No. 21: Conducting banking services in the flood affected areas
The Department of Off-site Supervision of the Bangladesh Bank directs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to temporarily close branches in flood-affected districts, including Sylhet, Sunamganj, Rangpur, and Kurigram, where normal banking operations are impossible. Banks must arrange for customers to access essential banking services at nearby branches during the closure. Once flood conditions improve, banks are required to resume services at the affected branches without delay.
