DOS Circular Letter No. 27: Holidays of the year 2017
Scheduled banks in Bangladesh, including Bangladesh Bank, are required to observe 23 public holidays during 2017. The specified dates include Shaheed Day on 21 February, Independence Day on 26 March, Eid-ul-Fitr from 25 to 27 June, and Eid-ul-Adha from 1 to 3 September. Several holidays, including Buddha Purnima, Shab-e-Barat, Shab-e-Qadar, Ashura, and Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi, are subject to the appearance of the moon. The remaining fixed-date holidays range from Bengali New Year's Day on 14 April to Christmas Day on 25 December.
