EAC Directives of 29th May 2015

The East African Community Council of Ministers issued seven harmonized directives on 29 May 2015 to standardize securities market operations across Partner States. These directives establish unified eligibility, governance, and disclosure requirements for collective investment schemes, secondary exchange admissions, public equity and debt offers, regional listings, asset-backed securities, and market intermediary governance. By mandating cross-border recognition and aligned regulatory frameworks, the directives facilitate seamless capital market integration, enhance investor protection, and reduce systemic risks throughout the region.
