Endorsement Form for Pilot Project on Mobile Application-Based Passenger Transportation Services
The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) has issued an endorsement form establishing insurance conditions and restrictions for a pilot project covering partner-drivers who provide remunerated passenger transportation exclusively through the Uber Canada Inc. mobile application. The endorsement mandates a minimum $1 million coverage under Section A, defines the insurance period from app connection to disconnection, and clarifies required Section B protections including specific deductibles and travel expense indemnities. It also withdraws standard taxi-use exclusions, requires insurers to obtain trip logs from Uber Canada Inc. for claims processing, and reserves the Authority’s right to modify or add conditions as the pilot project progresses.
