Explanatory Note on the Regulation on Ensuring Information Security in Payment Systems for Payment System Operators and Payment Service Providers
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan approved a regulation establishing minimum requirements for ensuring information security in payment systems for payment system operators and payment service providers. The regulation defines necessary tasks for securing information systems, mandates specific security measures for the input, transmission, processing, and storage of payments, and aims to prevent unauthorized alteration or leakage of payment data. It also ensures security and information protection when providing remote payment services. The regulation became effective on June 30, 2020.
