Fast-Track Mechanism for Processing of Placement Memorandum of AIFs filed with SEBI

SEBI implements a fast-track mechanism for the launch of schemes and circulation of Placement Memorandums (PPMs) for Angel Funds and non-Large Value Fund (non-LVF) Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs). These entities may proceed with launching new schemes and soliciting funds 30 days after filing the application with SEBI, provided any comments received during this period are complied with prior to launch. For the first scheme of an AIF, launch is permitted from the date of SEBI registration or 30 days after filing, whichever is later, with the first close required within 12 months of eligibility. Merchant Bankers and AIF Managers bear responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of disclosures, and specific filing requirements including a Due Diligence Certificate and disclaimer clauses are mandated.
