FEPD Circular No. 26: Calculation of Exchange Position

Authorised Dealers in Foreign Exchange in Bangladesh must calculate their daily exchange position using new formats specified in Annexure-A and Annexure-B, replacing previous methods under FE Circular No. 07. The new calculation methodology, aligned with BASEL-II Guidelines, requires reporting net spot, forward, and acceptance positions while excluding contingent liabilities such as letters of credit and guarantees. Authorised Dealers are required to use the new submission formats on a trial basis starting January 10, 2010, with the existing formats remaining valid until January 31, 2010, and fully replaced by February 1, 2010.
