FEPD Circular No. 38: Regarding Correction of FMJ Form
The Foreign Exchange Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank amends the Foreign Exchange Declaration (FMJ) form to reflect the increase in the permissible limit for carrying Bangladeshi currency from BDT 5,000 to BDT 10,000 per person. The circular instructs all approved dealer banks and licensed money changers to use the revised form for declarations of foreign currency and bearer instruments. It clarifies that declarations are mandatory for foreign currency exceeding USD 5,000 or equivalent, while amounts up to this threshold may be repatriated without declaration under specific conditions.
