FIMA 2021 Financial Markets Standards

The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority has published four new financial markets standards under the Financial Institutions and Markets Act, 2021 to regulate exchange operations, reporting obligations, and securities offerings. Registered exchanges must establish clear listing criteria and governance structures, while self-regulatory organizations are required to submit comprehensive annual reports within ninety days of their financial year-end. The standards further mandate the electronic filing of off-exchange transactions affecting beneficial ownership within two days and require regulated persons to provide clients with detailed, conflict-free offer documents that ensure investment suitability.
