FinCEN Extends Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting Deadline by 30 Days
FinCEN extends the deadline for most reporting companies to file initial, updated, or corrected beneficial ownership information to March 21, 2025. Companies that previously qualified for later deadlines, such as those due to disaster relief extensions, must adhere to their original later dates. Plaintiffs in National Small Business United v. Yellen are not currently required to report beneficial ownership information. FinCEN intends to initiate a process to revise the reporting rule to reduce burden for lower-risk entities.
