FSC Identifies D-SIBs and D-SIFIs for 2027

The Financial Services Commission (FSC) identified five banks and five bank holding companies as domestic systemically important banks (D-SIBs) and domestic systemically important financial institutions (D-SIFIs) for 2027. The list, which includes Shinhan Financial Group, KB Financial Group, Hana Financial Group, Woori Financial Group, NH Financial Group, Shinhan Bank, Woori Bank, KB Bank, Hana Bank, and NH Bank, remains unchanged from the previous year. D-SIBs are required to set aside an additional common equity capital of 1.0 percent, though no actual increase in capital ratio is required this year due to the consistent list. D-SIFIs must have their own recovery plans and Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC)-prepared resolution plans approved annually by the FSC, with those designated for 2027 required to submit their recovery plans to the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) within three months of designation.
