Guidelines on common procedures and methodologies on supervisory review and evaluation process of CCPs under Article 21 of EMIR

Competent authorities designated under Article 22 of EMIR must conduct annual supervisory reviews and evaluations of CCPs authorized under Article 14 of EMIR, applying common procedures and methodologies specified in the document. Reviews must cover all requirements laid down in EMIR and its supplementing regulatory technical standards, utilizing a core review supplemented by extended or specific reviews where warranted by factors listed in Annex II. The guidelines mandate that competent authorities source information from continuous ongoing supervision and specific data collection, including self-assessments and risk model analyses, and present results to the college via a comprehensive report. These guidelines apply from 11 May 2022 and do not introduce new requirements for CCPs beyond those already specified in EMIR or relevant technical standards.
