Guidelines on supervision of significant branches

Competent authorities must apply these guidelines to the prudential supervision of significant-plus branches of Union institutions in other Member States from 1 January 2018. They must ensure such branches are reflected in the institution’s SREP and SEP, conduct regular on-the-spot checks, and coordinate recovery plan assessments. Institutions must ensure their ICAAP and ILAAP adequately cover significant-plus branches’ risk exposures, capital, and liquidity. Competent authorities must notify the EBA of compliance by the specified deadline using the designated form.
