Implementation of Section 51A of UAPA, 1967: Updates to UNSC’s 1267/ 1989 ISIL (Da'esh) & Al-Qaida Sanctions List: Removal of 7 Entries
The Reserve Bank of India informs regulated entities that the United Nations Security Council removed seven individuals from the ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List via press release SC/16365 dated May 21, 2026. Consequently, the asset freeze, travel ban, and arms embargo set out in Security Council resolution 2734 (2024) no longer apply to these specific names. Regulated entities are advised to update their records and take appropriate action in accordance with Chapter IX of the Know Your Customer Directions, 2025 and the UAPA Order dated February 02, 2021.
