Memo 1994-20 Unclaimed Property
Kansas Bank Commissioner Frank D. Dunnick notifies state-chartered financial institutions of revised unclaimed property procedures following legislative changes to K.S.A. 58-3934. The department will report uncorrected violations to the State Treasurer if they remain unresolved for fourteen days after the final examination report, granting the Treasurer authority to conduct further examinations. Institutions must also provide a letter from an independent CPA or a board resolution certifying compliance, or face potential examination by the Treasurer.
