Minimum Capital for Banks Regulation

Banks in the UAE must maintain minimum paid-up capital of AED 2 billion, AED 300 million for Specialized Banks, and AED 100 million at the branch level for foreign bank branches. This Regulation replaces Central Bank Circulars and Notices 10.1 through 10.5 and becomes effective one month after publication. Existing banks must comply by 31 December 2023. Breaches require immediate notification to the Central Bank, which may impose supervisory actions and sanctions.
