The Connecticut Department of Banking approved Newtown Savings Bank's relocation of a branch from 956 White Plains Rd to 926 White Plains Rd in Trumbull. The Banking Commissioner, State Treasurer, and State Comptroller issued a final certificate of authority to The Bank of Fairfield to commence business as a bank and trust company, which was subsequently acquired by BNC Financial Group, Inc. Additionally, the Commissioner entered into a settlement agreement with Gateway Home Loans, LLC regarding unregistered mortgage originators, resolving the matter after the company contributed $1,000 to the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.
