Notice Of Sanctions: Designation Of Individuals And Entities By The Nigeria Sanctions Committee (NSC)

The Nigeria Sanctions Committee designated six individuals and three entities as terrorist financiers, adding them to the Nigeria Sanctions List with effective dates of June 15 or 18, 2026. Capital Market Regulated Entities are directed to immediately identify and freeze all funds and assets belonging to these designated persons and entities without prior notice. Regulated entities must also prohibit dealings with the listed parties, file suspicious transaction reports with the NFIU, and report all compliance actions and name matches to the Secretariat of the Nigeria Sanctions Committee. Failure to comply with these directives constitutes a violation of the Investments and Securities Act, 2025, and SEC AML/CFT Rules, attracting sanctions such as fines, suspension of operations, or revocation of registration.
