Rule · BNB · 16 Jul 2018
This Ordinance sets requirements for banks regarding internal exposures, specifying internal rules and procedures for their formation, identification, supervision, and reporting to the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB). It defines the method for calculating internal exposures, including using gross carrying amounts for balance sheet items and nominal values for most off-balance sheet items, with specific exceptions and without considering collateral. Banks must obtain unanimous board decisions for internal exposures, with certain exceptions for exposures below EUR 150,000, and must notify the BNB of these decisions within ten days. Quarterly reports on internal exposures are required, along with immediate notification of any breaches of statutory limits, and prior BNB approval is needed for certain exemptions related to exposures to subsidiaries, for which a EUR 1,500 fee is charged.
