Oregon DFR Bulletin 2022-4: Coverage of hMPXV Vaccination Costs
The Oregon Division of Financial Regulation issued Bulletin 2022-4 to mandate that all health benefit plans in Oregon cover the full cost of hMPXV (monkeypox) vaccines and their administration. Issued in response to a public health emergency declaration, the bulletin prohibits insurers from imposing network restrictions, cost-sharing requirements, prior authorization, or other utilization limits on these vaccinations. The coverage requirements are retroactive to August 5, 2022, and apply to both in-network and out-of-network providers to ensure enrollees receive vaccines at no out-of-pocket cost.
