Oregon Division of Financial Regulation Bulletin DFR 2021-1: Coverage of COVID-19 Vaccination
The Oregon Division of Financial Regulation issued Bulletin DFR 2021-1 to mandate that all health benefit plans in the state provide coverage for approved COVID-19 vaccines and their administration. The directive requires insurers to cover these services without cost-sharing, regardless of whether providers are in-network or out-of-network, and prohibits prior authorization or other utilization reviews. This requirement applies retroactively to January 27, 2021, and supplements existing federal mandates under the CARES Act and the Public Health Service Act.
