State-chartered financial institutions and state-licensed companies may close offices or establish temporary locations without prior approval following the state of emergency proclaimed for Hurricane Dora and the Wildfires. Institutions must notify the Commissioner of Financial Institutions via telephone or email to report office closures, evacuated staff contact information, and the creation of temporary locations after the fact. These procedures fulfill statutory obligations under Hawaii Revised Statutes chapters 412, 454F, 454M, 489D, 449, and 480J.
