Prohibition of Issuance of Certain Types of Bonds by Insurance Companies Directive No. SIB/51/2020 (1st Amendment)
The directive amends Article 2 of Directive No. SIB/24/2004 to authorize the National Bank of Ethiopia to grant exemptions from the restriction on the issuance of unconditional bonds by insurance companies. This amendment allows the National Bank to permit such issuances when deemed necessary, notwithstanding previous provisions. The directive enters into force on August 4, 2020.
