Proposed Amendments to the Regulations on Supervision of Banking Business

The Financial Services Commission proposes amendments to assign specific risk weights for loan-to-deposit ratio calculations, setting household loans at 115%, corporate loans at 85%, and sole proprietor loans at 100%. KRW-denominated certificates of deposit issued by banks are treated as deposits up to 1% of aggregate deposits in these calculations. Additionally, new credit extended to companies under workout or restructuring arrangements may be classified separately from previous extensions. The public comment period for these proposed changes ends on July 6, 2018.
