Regulations Governing the Establishment and Audit of Reserves on Stored Value Funds Received by Specialized Electronic Payment Institutions

Specialized electronic payment institutions must deposit reserves for stored value funds exceeding NT$10 billion. The reserve ratio matches the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan)'s required ratios for demand deposits in New Taiwan dollars and foreign currency deposits, calculated monthly based on daily averages. Institutions are required to open specific interbank deposit accounts at the Bank of Taiwan Co., Ltd. and adjust balances within five business days after each maintenance period. These regulations became effective on July 1, 2021.
