The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Bolivia approves a new regulation governing the auction, allocation, redemption, administration, and control of short- and long-term securities issued by the General Treasury of the Nation for fiscal policy purposes. The regulation establishes the Interinstitutional Council for Treasury Securities (CATT) to set policy, defines authorized participants including financial entities and private individuals acting through them, and sets specific operational rules such as a 2% fund provision for auctions and a 2% fine for payment defaults. The new regulation enters into force on May 15, 2001, simultaneously repealing previous resolutions 010/99 and 007/2000.
