Resolution 101/2011 Approving the Regulation for the Administration of International Reserves

The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Bolivia approves a new Regulation for the Administration of International Reserves, replacing previous resolutions 078/2010 and 126/2010. The regulation establishes investment criteria prioritizing safety, capital preservation, liquidity, currency diversification, and profitability, and defines the composition of working and investment capital. It sets specific risk limits, including a maximum 10% probability of annual loss, sovereign credit rating requirements of at least AA-, and concentration caps such as 5% per banking issuer. The document also mandates the use of Standard & Poor’s credit ratings and prohibits investments in offshore financial institutions.
