Resolution 163/2011 Approving the Regulation for the Administration of International Reserves

The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Bolivia approves a new Regulation for the Administration of International Reserves, replacing Resolution 101/2011. The regulation establishes investment criteria prioritizing security, capital preservation, liquidity, currency diversification, and profitability, and defines the composition of working and investment capital, including specific authorized instruments and reference benchmarks. It imposes strict risk limits, such as a sovereign credit rating of at least AA- for investment destinations, a maximum tracking error of 100 basis points, and concentration caps ranging from 5% to 100% depending on the sector. A compliance period is established until June 30, 2012, for adherence to these new operational and risk management standards.
