Resolution Establishing the Alloy for the Central Metallic Composition of One, Two, and Five Peso Coins
The Resolution establishes that the central metallic composition of one, two, and five peso coins will use steel coated with bronze, replacing the current aluminum bronze alloy. This change is effective for coins minted starting in the 2025 fiscal year, following necessary technical adjustments. The modified coins retain their legal tender status until withdrawn from circulation by the Bank of Mexico.
