Review of Payments System Regulation
The Reserve Bank of Australia has launched a statutory review into payments system regulation, inviting stakeholder submissions on prioritizing policy issues amid rapid industry innovation. The consultation addresses merchant payment choices, account-to-account competition, mobile wallets, buy-now-pay-later services, and fraud prevention to ensure regulatory frameworks support public interest, competition, and financial safety.
