Dear Sir,

Subject: Submission of Agent Banking-related information/data on a monthly basis via the revised format.

Reference is invited to this Division's letter Ref No.-Statistics.ABS-1(1)/2025-252 dated 4 February 2025, regarding the submission of Agent Banking-related information/data on a monthly basis.

2. In accordance with the aforementioned letter, scheduled banks operating agent banking programs have been regularly submitting information/data regarding the number and performance of their agents and outlets to this Division in the prescribed format. Now, in view of the formulation of timely policies and the needs of stakeholders, a monthly submission format has been prepared incorporating additional variables such as the number of agents, outlets, and non-branch ATMs, along with their performance and transaction volumes, to collect detailed information on agent banking (copy attached). Accordingly, it is advised to submit Agent Banking-related information/data to the Agent Banking Statistics Division, Statistics Division, in accordance with the following instructions:

a) Information/data for each month from June 2026 onwards must be regularly submitted via email (statistics.d@bb.org.bd) to the Agent Banking Statistics Division, Statistics Division, by the 10th of the following month, in accordance with the attached monthly submission format. Additionally, a summary of the submitted information/data must be submitted to the Director, Agent Banking Statistics Division, Statistics Division, in accordance with Annexure-1;

b) Along with the attached monthly submission format, Agent Banking-related information/data must be submitted in accordance with the instructions of the aforementioned letter Ref No.-Statistics.ABS-1(1)/2025-252 dated 4 February 2025, via the revised format until August 2026. It is mentioned that the instructions sent under the aforementioned letter will be deemed cancelled for submissions starting September 2026;

c) If any changes are made to the number/number of agents/ATMs mentioned in the monthly submission format, such changes must be informed via email in a timely manner;

d) The concerned departments must always be vigilant regarding the submission of accurate information/data within the prescribed time limit. If any ambiguity arises regarding the reporting, the concerned departments of this Division should be contacted directly if necessary.

3. This instruction is issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991 (as amended up to 2023).
