Rule · OJK · 31 Aug 2015 · 25/SEOJK.05/2015
The regulation permits Sharia insurance and reinsurance companies to value their Sharia securities holdings using amortized cost, provided this method is applied uniformly across all such holdings. It also reduces the minimum fund requirement for anticipating management failure risks in solvability calculations to 50% of the amount specified in previous regulations, with adjustments allowed until the company's tabarru' fund solvency ratio reaches a maximum of 30%. These provisions apply only if global financial conditions have caused market values to appear unreasonable or solvency ratios to fall below required levels, and the risk fund adjustment becomes inapplicable if the valuation alone restores compliance with solvency requirements.
