Simplification of Procedure and Standardization of Formats for Issuance of Duplicate Securities Certificates

Registered Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents (RTAs), recognized stock exchanges, listed companies and investors’ associations must, for duplicate securities, obtain an FIR or police complaint, newspaper advertisement, and Board-prescribed Affidavit and Indemnity Bond, with no surety required; overseas holders may file a notarized self-declaration. RTAs/issuer companies must issue Form C within 30 days, with demat requests due within 120 days, reminders at 45 and 90 days, and unclaimed securities credited to the Suspense Escrow Demat Account. This replaces RTI Circular No. 1 (2000-2001), effective immediately.
