The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan proposes amendments to the Research Analyst Regulations, 2015, to redefine key terms including Public Appearance, Research Analyst, Research Entity, and Research Report. The draft introduces obligations for Research Analysts to maintain a documentary basis for reports, disclose information sources, refrain from speculating on pending court matters, and consistently define recommendation terms. It also mandates that third-party content providers publishing reports under a Research Entity's name be treated as Research Analysts responsible for compliance and conflict of interest disclosures, and requires Independent Research Analysts and Research Entities to inform the Commission before commencing business.
