The State Bank of Pakistan maintains a panel of Chartered Accountant firms under Section 35(1) of the Banking Companies Ordinance, 1962, categorized into A, B, and C. Category A firms are eligible to audit all banks and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). Category B firms may audit banks and DFIs with assets up to Rupees 100 billion or up to 160 branches. Category C firms are restricted to auditing banks and DFIs with assets up to Rupees 15 billion or up to 30 branches.
