Study Note No. 58: Economic Activity - June 2026

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in June 2026 grew 1.8 percent year-on-year, with primary GDP contracting 8.1 percent due to declines across all sectors except hydrocarbons, notably fishing and its manufacturing following the suspension of the first anchovy season. Non-primary GDP expanded 4.9 percent, primarily driven by growth in construction, trade, and services. Formal employment increased 4.2 percent in June, and the average nominal formal income rose 3.1 percent.
